Which symptoms are worth logging

Not every symptom is worth logging — these are

What logging is for

The aim isn't to fill in a long list; it's to find the things that repeat. A symptom becomes useful when it turns up around the same day of your cycle for several months in a row — then you can see it coming.

What to log

  1. 1

The things that repeat. Headache, cramps, back pain, breast tenderness, bloating, tiredness, trouble sleeping, mood changes.

  2. 2

How much, not just whether. “I had a headache” is less useful than “I had a severe headache”.

  3. 3

Days with no symptoms are data too. A pattern is built out of the difference.

  4. 4

When you have the energy. It isn't compulsory. An incomplete month is better than nothing.
