The target is weekly, not daily
The NHS's official number for adults is at least 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity a week, plus two days of strength work. But it isn't a grade you can fail; the fact that it's weekly means you can move the hard parts to the days you have the energy.
How to fit it to your cycle
-
1
Ten minutes counts too. And it's far better than nothing. You don't have to hit the number for it to do you good.
-
2
Period days: light, but moving. Walking, yoga, swimming — the same things recommended for the pain.
-
3
Break up long sitting. That's part of the same official advice, for every day of the month.
When to say something
- periods that have stopped after hard training or eating too little — don't wait three cycles for this one
